Even as a li'l girl, I always thought of rain to be a wonderful accomplice to hide our tears - but when i heard an actor mouth it in a movie, i was frankly disappointed - Plagiarism i thought.
Now i am 40 but even now my idea of enjoying myself in the rain is by following a few steps: getting wet in the rain~dance & drench myself thoroughly~followed by tears~be it of joy or sorrow, just bring them on and that's it- that should be the ultimate culmination. Though for some years now it has become a luxury because as a mother, i just cannot take the risk of exposing my kiddos to the rain. I don't know how the rain that was harmless for me in my childhood can do any harm to my kids -i have no answer. I also do not have the heart to become a demo-piece for them by asking them to stay indoors and i do the jubiliation in the rains.
The other side of the rain that bothers me as a domestic manager: home gets all squishy-squashy; clothes do not dry; never-ending supply of umbrellas to family, visitors and servants; craving for hot savories and maybe a lot more. If all these are taken care of, i would love to take go out into the rain wearing a raincoat and first water my rain-soaked plants and then melodramatically pull out the raincoat and dance in the rain and the sequence follows :)
